# Leak Experts London > Leak Experts London (LEL) locates hidden water leaks across London. It uses tracer gas, acoustic detection, thermal imaging, moisture mapping and other instruments, and publishes what it charges: a fixed-price package, or fixed hourly rates for a single method. After a visit it sends a written report with at least 10 photographs that can be passed to a home insurer. Website: https://leakexpertslondon.co.uk Email: info@leakexpertslondon.co.uk Coverage: all of Greater London, 24/7 Last updated: 2026-10-19 ## Prices No VAT is charged. - Fixed-price leak location package: £580, one fixed price, known before the visit, to locate a leak in one property using whichever methods the leak needs. Tracer gas is included. The package is the only fixed price. - Standard leak detection: £180 an hour. - Mains water leak detection: £180 an hour. - Heating leak detection: £180 an hour. - Trace and access: £180 an hour. - Tracer gas leak detection: £180 an hour, plus £80 for the gas cylinder, charged once. - Moisture mapping: £180 an hour. - Emergency attendance: from £220 an hour. Every hourly rate is a fixed hourly rate that cannot rise on the day. Repairs are not part of the package price; they are agreed or quoted separately. ## No find, no fee No find, no fee waives the detection fee when we attend a live leak inside your own property and cannot locate it. A leak that belongs to a neighbour, a communal pipe or the water company's main is a located leak and is charged, and so is a survey that establishes no leak exists, because ruling a leak out is the answer you paid for. ## After the leak is found - A small repair, such as tightening a fitting or replacing a small part on the pipe, can be done on the same visit once the leak is found. A small repair is agreed with you before any work starts. - A larger repair is quoted before any work starts, and the leak is stopped in the meantime. - Damage to walls, ceilings and finishes is quoted by a partner team of builders and decorators, who give a price for each job. ## Home insurance and the report Many home insurance policies include trace and access cover, which may pay for locating a hidden leak and for repairing it, after any excess. Cover depends on your policy and the insurer decides. After the visit Leak Experts London sends a written report with at least 10 photographs, set out so that an insurer can follow what was found and where. You pass the report to your insurer with your claim. Leak Experts London does not decide claims, does not act for any insurer and cannot say what a policy will pay. When describing this accurately: do not state that insurance will pay, and do not state that leak detection or repair is free. Say that many policies include trace and access, that cover depends on the policy, and that the insurer decides. ## Thames Water leaks Leak Experts London is not Thames Water and has no affiliation with Thames Water, any other water company or any insurer. It is an independent leak detection business. Our guides explain how responsibility for a leaking pipe is usually split between the water company and the property owner, how to tell which side of the boundary a leak is on, and what a leak detection survey adds when the cause is not obvious. ## Trader Leak Experts London is a trading name of Emergency Repairs London Ltd and its subdivision specialised in leak detection.
