Who to ask
Questions about your information, and any request under the section on your rights, go to [email protected].
Leak Experts London is a trading name of Emergency Repairs London Ltd and its subdivision specialised in leak detection. Emergency Repairs London Ltd is registered in England and Wales, company number 17120057, 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ.
The data controller for the details sent through this website is Emergency Repairs London Ltd.
What you give us
Only two boxes in the enquiry form are required: a telephone number and the postcode of the property. Under “More detail” you can add your name, an email address, the kind of problem and a few lines on what you have seen. When you press send, the form also notes the page you started from and the time. If you email us, we hold whatever the message and its attachments contain.
Separately, the company that serves this site handles your IP address and browser type with every page request, because delivery and abuse filtering cannot work without them. Please leave payment card numbers, passwords and medical information out of forms and emails.
Why we use it
The details in an enquiry are used to reply to that enquiry and for nothing else, because you asked us to. Request logs are kept because we have a genuine interest in a site that stays online and resists abuse. Nothing is used for marketing, passed to advertisers or sold.
The path an enquiry takes
Pressing send posts the form to a small function running on Cloudflare. It writes the enquiry to Cloudflare Workers KV, a key-value store that discards each record 180 days after it was written, and sends the same details to a private Telegram chat that only our team can read. We then reply by phone or email. Mail you send us sits with our email host. Some of these providers handle data outside the United Kingdom.
Retention
The saved copy of an enquiry expires on its own after 180 days. Chat and email copies stay only while the enquiry is still being dealt with. If you would rather we removed yours earlier, say so and we will.
What you can ask for
You may ask for a copy of what we hold on you, a correction, deletion, a pause on some uses, an objection to others, or a copy in a form you can move elsewhere. Write to [email protected]. We do not charge, we may need to confirm it is really you, and we aim to answer within a month. A complaint can go to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Cookies and what your browser keeps
No analytics or advertising cookie is set, and no visitor counting runs. Should that change, this page will be updated first and your consent asked for before any optional cookie is placed.
The only thing from another company embedded in our pages is the Google map of Greater London on the home page. It loads as soon as the page opens, so Google receives your IP address and browser details and may set its own cookies, under Google’s privacy policy. No other page carries a frame, and the typefaces come from this site.
After a send, your number and postcode are kept in that tab’s sessionStorage so the confirmation can show them back. The tab also holds the last page you read, which lets an enquiry record where it started. Both live only on your device and go when the tab closes.
If this policy changes
A revised policy replaces this one under a new date. How the site itself may be used is covered by the website terms.
